Rob and Avelina's Visit (Mar-Jun, 2020)
Rob and Avelina fled New York just as it was getting hit by Covid-19, and stayed in Laguna Beach for a while. After laying low for a couple of weeks, they came over for a socially-distanced hike. When Avelina needed a haircut, she recruited Michelle as an amateur hairdresser. We hung out and went for some walks on the beach, and Allison took some cooking lessons from Rob. One day, Ray came over to our house to meet Pixel. Allison was sad to say goodbye. When they left, Rob and Avelina took Michelle with them on a road trip back to the East Coast.

New Year's 2020 (Jan 1, 2020)
We had the traditional New Year's Day party at our house on January 1. This year, the festivities included a spicy sauce tasting contest, and a whole lot of karaoke (featuring Allison's new karaoke machine). We even managed to get Adam to take a group photo of the whole family (modulo Adam).

Ira's Birthday (Nov 9, 2019)
Ira and Valera had all the friends and family over at their house to celebrate Ira's birthday. Allison and I came after an all-day robotics competition, which happened to be in San Diego. There was good food, great cake, dancing, entertainment, other kids to hang out with, and out-of-towners to catch up with.

Dave's Graduation (July 27, 2019)
Dave graduated from Penn State, and Lora and Bill had a party for him at their house. It was mostly family. There was good food and a beautiful cake, and Allison had her share of running around the backyard with Bella. Some impressive gymnastics and acrobatics were also practiced.

Rob and Avelina's Wedding (July 20, 2018)
Rob and Avelina got married in Barcelona. Unfortunately, many of us weren't able to attend due to various summer camp commitments. Elmer, as our sole representative, flew to Barcelona for the weekend, and enjoyed the wedding, the company, and the food.

Phil and Liz's Wedding (Sep 30, 2017)
Phil and Liz got married in San Diego, on what just happened to be Gary and Tanya's 45th wedding anniversary. A beautiful ceremony was followed by a fantastic party, with lots of spirited dancing, some very entertaining toasts, and a great chance to catch up with the rest of the family.

Tatiana and Miles' Wedding (June 11, 2016)
Tatiana and Miles got married at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla. Allison very much enjoyed dressing up for the occasion. (We had to run out early, because Adam had a CTC tournament the next day, so missed out on some of the later festivities.)

Dave and Alicia's Wedding (Sep 26, 2015)
Dave and Alicia got married in San Diego, at the Stone Brewery. We'd been looking forward to this wedding for quite a while - especially Allison, who was very excited to be included in the wedding party.
Here are some pictures from the wedding: before the ceremony, during the ceremony, after the ceremony, and during the reception. We caught up with some friends and family that we haven't seen in a while, and the kids were happy to see Dexter in attendance.

Fanya's 93rd Birthday (Aug 29, 2015)
We celebrated Baba Fanya's 93rd birthday in San Diego. All the other August birthday peeople were celebrated as well. Apparently, all of their ages together added up to 157 (93 + 44 + 12 + 8).

Fanya's 90th Birthday (Aug 31, 2012)
It's a year of big birthdays, and this was the biggest one of all: Fanya's 90th. There was a big celebration in San Diego with family and friends, speeches and toasts, music and dancing. Phillip was in town for the festivities, and he helped the kids blow up some monster birthday balloons.
